Monster Energy Yamaha’s Steven Frossard had a pretty good weekend in Sweden at the Uddevalla GP. Frossard won both motos and claimed his second MX1 victory of the year.
“It feels really good to win again,” Frossard said. “I like this track even if it is slippery and difficult! I tried to stay focused and ride calmly and my good starts helped a lot with this. It wasn’t easy out there but it was easier thanks to that.”
Frossard, who won his first MX2 race at the Swedish track in 2010, trailed Evgeny Bobryshev for most of the first Moto, but was able to make his move and pass the Russian with just two laps to go. In the second Moto, Frossard led from start to finish ahead of Antonio Cairoli.
Cairoli still leads the standings, but Frossard was able to cut the distance to the top from 35 points to 22 points. Frossard is currently in third place, behind Cairoli and Clement Desalle.
