Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1's Clement Desalle will take part in the Grand Prix of Sweden this weekend, round eight of 15 in the FIM Motocross World Championship, despite suffering a dislocated right shoulder last Sunday at Tongeren in the fourth round of the Belgian Championship.
The current MX1 series leader has caused minor damage to the joint that was briefly put out of place; similar to the ailment suffered at Valkenswaard last year (and from which he was able to win the Grand Prix of Portugal two weeks later).
Although the Belgian will not know the extent of his possibilities as far as the race is concerned at Uddevalla in six days he feels strong and confident to make the trip to northern Europe.
"Of course this is bad luck but a part of the sport we must accept," commented Team Principal Sylvain Geboers. "We won't know what Clement will be able to achieve this weekend but the fact that he feels he can try is a good sign. It is not in his character to give up easily, as we saw last year, and for sure he won't let any chance of this title go without a fight."
