Ryan Dungey took his first Motocross win of the year last night at the Thunder Valley Raceway in Colorado. Dungey took a hard earned second place during the first moto, but was able to cross the line first in the second moto. Dungey’s victory at Thunder Valley cut Chad Reed’s down to just 21 points.
Ryan Villopoto, who is currently second in the standings, won the first moto, but couldn’t keep up with a determined Dungey in the second moto.
"The track was tough," Villopoto said. "But that was the best second moto I've had all year. Ryan was riding well. He was strong on one side of the track and I was faster on the other. We played cat and mouse, but he gained some time on me at the end."
Chad Reed, who has won 5 motos so far this season, finished third in both events at Thunder Valley.
