Chad Reed added another tally to the win column with a superb performance at Budds Creek. Reed has won three of the first four AMA Motocross events this season, and currently leads the series by 15 points over Ryan Villopoto.
Reed finished third in the opening moto, but was disappointed in his performance.
“I just didn’t have the pace,” Reed said from the podium.
Villopoto, on the other hand, had plenty of speed. Villopoto took the first moto by nearly 30 seconds ahead of Reed. Villopoto was racing great at Budds Creek, and it looked like there could be a new points leader at the end of the second Moto.
But Reed stepped up his game in the second race.
“We made a few changes to the bike,” Reed said. “I’m really excited to get the win.”
Reed maintains a 15 point lead over Villopoto. Ryan Dungey is a little further back, 28 points behind the leader.
