Chad Reed and Ryan Dungey both took victories during the opening round of the 2011 AMA Motocross season. Reed and Dungey swapped places in the two motos, both taking home 47 points with 1st and second place results.
Dungey, the 2010 defending champion, took the win in moto 1 after a flawless race. Dungey would take the moto1 win by 9 seconds ahead of Reed and Villopoto.
In the second Moto, it was Chad Reed who took the win. Villopoto jumped out to an early start in the second moto, but Reed and Dungey were always close behind. Dungey and Reed would eventually pass the 2011 Supercross winner and fight until the final lap for the victory, but this time it was Reed who would come out on top.
