Steffi Laier Dominates WMX at Round 1 of Dutch Championship

Steffi_LaierRed Bull Teka KTM factory rider and WMX World champion Steffi Laier was in a class of her own on Sunday in Gemert in the Netherlands for Round 1 of the Dutch Championship, dominating both motos in the women's competition.

Steffi won the first moto by 40 seconds and the second by 1:50 indicating that she is again going to be the dominant force on the women's circuit in the 2011 competition.

The German rider and her team have been working hard training and testing and her form on Sunday on the track heavy after rain showed she is confident on the bike and ready for the season proper.Steffi will race in the second round of the Dutch Championship in Halle next weekend where she hopes to compete in the MX2 class to allow her to sharpen her skills with tougher competition.

The first round of the Women's World Championship is being run in Sevlievo, Bulgaria, together with the opening races of the MX1 and MX2 GP series at the beginning of April.
