Steffi Laier is ready for the 2011 season to begin. Laier, a Red Bull Teka KTM factory rider, is a two time WMX World Champion, and she is eager to start her campaign for a third title. Laier will be heading to France this weekend for a pre-season MX race, her first of the season. Steffi has been training hard during the off-season, and is ready to compete against the boys in France.
"The track of Valence is not my favorite one but it is always nice to be able to compete together with the boys," Laier said.
Laier will be going up against top MX talent in France, including KTM's Joel Roelants, Yentel Martens, Nathan Parker, Loic Leonce, and Pascal Rauchenecker. The pre-season France race will be a great warmup for Laier as she prepares for the 2011 WMX season.
The WMX Championship will consist of 9 GPs this year, the first of which will be on April 10th in Bulgaria.
"I have been training hard in Belgium during the past weeks and I think things are looking good for me," Laier said. "It's exciting to be heading off to the first race. We still need to do quite a lot of testing but I love to ride my new KTM so I will be doing my best to make everyone proud of me."
After the pre-season race in Valence, Steffi will in the Dutch Championship and a few other international races to prepare for the 2011 season.
