KTM is probably best known for winning international races, but the Australian brand is bringing their A-game to the USGP in Glenn Helen this year. KTM will be defending both the MX1 and the MX2 crown this year, and they are looking forward to taking their annual trip the United States.
The Glenn Helen round was reintroduced to the MX1/MX2 World Championship last year, and was warmly welcomed by motorcross fans. This year's event is scheduled for May 15th this year, and will be the third event of the season.
“Of course the US GP at Glenn Helen is a great addition to the World Championship calendar and one that we expect to be a highlight in 2011," said Pit Breirer. "We will be there with a very strong lineup of our top riders because the event helps to reflect to increasingly global aspect of the championships and because the USA plays a pivotal role in our sport.”
Mike Alessi, Andrew Short, and Marvin Musquin will be racing for KTM in the US. Ken Roczen, the vice world champion of the 2010 MX2, will also race in selected US events before competing in Europe for the World Championship series.
World Champion Tony Cairoli of Italy and Max Nagl of Germany will be racing on the international circuit for KTM in MX1. KTM will be represented by Roczen, Jeffrey Herlings, and Jeremy van Horebeek for the MX2.
