Ryan Dungey bested returning champion Chad Reed at the National Motocross in Wortham, Texas today. Dungey won both races today, while Reed took a second and third at Freestone.
Dungey had a disappointing opening to the Motocross season at Hangtown, coming in at 8th, but his two first place finishes at Freestone show that the Rookie can compete on just about any track.
Reed still holds the lead in the overall standings, with 87 points. Dungey moves into second place with 76, followed by Mike Alessi with 68.
Kyle Regal had a slow start in race one, finishing in sixth. But he turned on the speed in race two to pass up Chad Reed and claim a second place finish.
In the 250 class, Christophe Pourcel took the win. Pourcel rode to victory in the first race, but only managed a fifth place finish in race two. Pourcel sits in first in the 250 class, 9 points ahead of Eli Tomac.
