The AMA Motocross season has begun, and returning champion Chad Reed has officially started the campaign to defend his title. Reed took the win in the 450 class at the Hangtown Classic in Rancho Cordova, California. Reed, who sat out most of the Supercross season due to injury, looked completely healthy around the Hangtown track. Reed led throughout the entire 30 minute event.
"While my supercross season didn't go as planned, I'm now fit and healthy and focused on defending this title and I think I proved that today," said Reed. "Everything went to plan and we achieved what we set out to. It's been a good... I couldn't be happier."
The next round of the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross will be at Freestone Raceway in Wortham, Texas on Saturday June 5th.
