Nuclear Cowboyz Kick off their U.S tour Hot

The Dawn of a New Freestyle!

Nuclear CowboyzLast night AllAboutBikes was invited to see the dress rehearsal of the new “Nuclear Cowboyz” show as it starts its U.S tour with the first night in the Mellon Arena, Pittsburgh, Pa., home to the current Stanley Cup champions the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Journalists from all over the state arrived to see the first practice Friday, which includes one local boy Adam Jones. The other riders are Mike Mason, Nate Adams, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, Ronnie Faisst, Todd Potter, Beau Bamburg, Nixey Danielson, Jim McNeil, Dustin Miller, Matt Buyten Brian Foster, Jimmie McGuire and Jackson Strong. They were all at the first venue on the actual tour at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh PA.

The last time they rode/practiced together was out in LA a few weeks ago, where they created the whole show in a week, said “Brian Rog” the public relations coordinator for Feld Motorsport. The company who also own “Monster Jam," “Monster Energy Supercross" and “AMA Arenacross Series" just to name but a few.

The whole theme of the show is two teams battling for world domination after a nuclear holocaust seems to wipe everyone else out. Nuclear CowboyzIn the end they find themselves working much better as a single team in tandem, which makes for a very entertaining finale. It takes you a while to realize that there is a story line to the show, however, once you get the hang of what is going on it all seems to fall into place.

I can really only describe the story line similar to watching a “porno movie,” in the sense that you know there is a story there but you're not really sure what it is but you keep watching, no offense meant Nuclear Cowboyz.

I have to say though that the “Grinder Girl” is something else. This character hacks at herself with a grinder in places that brings tears to your eyes, and in a way that only someone wearing metal plates could perform, “ this is something not to be tried at home children.”

They start off with Geoff Aaron the amazing Trails/Trick rider. I have seen his show before and now with his link with the Motocross Freestyle riders his talent looks very unique, jumping on police cars, up the ramps from the opposite side and generally going everywhere on his back wheel, and anywhere possible in the arena really works.

Nuclear CowboyzOne of the benefits of this show is that it is not just all about bike stunts or jumps; it really has some extra participants that add to the overall show. Like “Grinder Girl” and the “Nuclear Cowgirlz” who are on constant show dancing around poles and supporting their team leaders and members.

Then there is Derek Guetter who also does the stunts and jumps but on a Can-Am quad, on actual show nights he will also attempt a back-flip which he chose not to do on the dress rehearsal.

You can also see the riders are competing against each other, constantly “one-upping” each other with who can do the most amount of back flips, or side swipes. When they land next to each other, there is regular “competitive banter” that you can see from the stands.

The two teams “Soldiers of Havoc" and “Metal Mulisha” fight it out against each other only to come to a compromise, which is truly where the show really gets going. When all 14 riders are flying across the arena on different bikes and different ramps it makes for some very spectacular family viewing and the pyrotechnics are really powerful and add to the stunts very nicely, if you sit close enough to the arena you can actually feel the heat from the blasts.

Last night was the dress rehearsal, tonight is the show, and we will keep you posted with regards how the real opening night goes.
