The Versah Suzuki team will have two shots at the championship in 2012 with returning Daytona Sportbike rider Corey West and AMA Supersport rookie Jake Lewis.
West wasn't able to take a win in the 2011 season, but he was almost always one of the riders at the front of the pack during the end of the race. West took home three podiums, 8 top five finishes, and only finished outside of the top 10 on one occasion. With another year under his belt, West will be challenging for the title in 2012.
"I'm happy to be teamed up again with Vesrah Suzuki and Crew Chief Tony Pogue for the 2012 racing season," West said. "This will be my fourth year riding for the team and we have shared some incredible moments in seasons past. I'm anxious to get back to racing again and excited to have been at Daytona for this weeks tire test. We will try to refine our setup from this years race so that we can stand on top of the box next March!"
Lewis should also have high hopes for the 2012 season. Lewis will be racing in the professional ranks for the first time, but the 2011 AMA Road Race Horizon Award winner should be riding at speed at Daytona.
"I'm really looking forward to the 2012 AMA Pro Racing season," Lewis said. "I'm excited about this opportunity with Vesrah because I think they will be one of the best AMA Pro teams in the paddock next year. They are really committed to giving me everything that I need to win the title next year, which gives me a lot of confidence going into the season! I would especially like to thank all of my sponsors past and present that have helped me get to this point in my career. I look forward to Daytona and having a very successful first year in the pro ranks!"
