Danny Eslick clinched the Daytona Sportbike championship yesterday, but that didn't keep any rider on the grid from giving it their all during today's race. Josh Herrin, Dane Westby, Tommy Auino, and Cameron Beaubier fought until the bitter end to claim the final victory of the season.
Josh Herrin came out on top after 23 action packed laps around New Jersey Motorsports Park.
The race was red-flagged on the 14th lap when Santiago Villa crashed, which put the top contenders back on the grid for a ten lap sprint.
Herrin was able to hold off charges from Westby and Aquino to take his fifth win of the season. Herrin also took second place during the first Daytona Sportbike at NJMP, but a 6th place finish from Danny Eslick sealed up the 2011 Daytona Sportbike Championship.
Herrin finished second overall, followed by Tommy Auino and Jason DiSalvo.
