James Rispoli didn't win the AMA Supersport race today at New Jersey Motorsports Park, but the Ant Racing rider's podium finish was enough to clinch the AMA East Coast Division title and the overall AMA Supersport Championship.

"It feels great," Rispoli said. "This is my first Pro championship, it's a real accomplishment."

Rispoli finished second to Garret Gerloff, who raced and won his first AMA Supersport race today.

"I just wanted to do my best," Gerloff said. "This is unbelievable. It couldn't have gone any better."

David Gaviria  took the final spot on the podium. Gaviria was also honored today at NJMP for winning the West Coast Championship.

With the AMA Supersport series wrapped up, you might expect some easy racing tomorrow. But Rispoli said that he's going for one more race win.

"We're going for the win tomorrow," Rispoli said. "We've got to find a way to beat this guy (Gerloff)."
