After a crash in race one, Fillmore let Steve Rapp come within 6 points of the championship lead. But Fillmore got better results in race two and picked up a valuable victory before the championship round next weekend in New Jersey.
Fillmore won the second XR1200 race today in a tight race to the finish ahead of Rapp and race 1 winner Tyler O'Hara. Fillmore crossed the line just .16 seconds ahead of Rapp to take his third win of the season.
Michael Barnes took the fourth place spot ahead of UK XR1200 champion Jeremy McWilliams. Jason DiSalvo was riding with the front pack for the first half of the race, but a mechanical issue forced the Daytona Sportbike rider to the back of the pack.
Steve Crevier took 6th ahead of Michael Corbino, while Michael Beck, Kyle Wyman, and Shane Narbonne completed the top 10.
The XR1200 series will have one more race in 2011. The season concludes next weekend during the AMA Championship weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
