Solis Takes the Provisional Pole at Laguna

mazda_raceway_laguna_secaAfter leading the morning free practice session, Benny Solis kept his Honda on top during the first qualifying session of the weekend for the AMA Supersport riders. Solis beat out David Gaviria and Tomas Puerta during Q1 to take the provisional pole position.

Solis and the other Supersport riders could have a hard time bettering their times from Q1 during the final qualifying session tomorrow morning on a cold Laguna track. Gaviria will have to find at least .45 seconds if he wants to take the pole position from Solis tomorrow.

Elena Myers had a solid qualifying to claim the fourth fastest time of the day. Myers brought her Suzuki within 1.3 seconds of Solis during the first qualifying session.

Corey Alexander, Stefano Mesa, Travis Ohge, and Sebastiao Ferreira made up the provisional second row.
