DiSalvo Fastest After FP1

Red_BullJason DiSalvo lead the way around the Mazda Raceway today during the first free practice session for the Daytona Sportbike riders. DiSalvo beat out season leaders Danny Eslick and Josh Herrin.

DiSalvo, who is currently third in the Daytona Sportbike standings, set a 1'29.352 lap time around the Laguna Seca track. Eslick finished .29 seconds behind DiSalvo and was the only other rider to drop below 1'30.

Josh Herrin, who surrendered the points lead to Eslick after the Mid-Ohio round, was the third quickest rider in California today. Herrin sits 15 points behind Eslick (26 points ahead of DiSalvo), and with just three races remaining in the season, he'll need to find a good result on Sunday.

PJ Jacobsen took the fourth place spot ahead of Dane Westby. The Daytona Sportbike riders are done for the day. They'll hit the track bright and early tomorrow morning for their first qualifying session.
