Dustin Dominguez took the provisional pole today at Mid-Ohio for the AMA Supersport riders. Dominguez beat out James Rispoli, Hayden Gillim, and Tomas Puerta to the top of the timesheets.
Dominguez, riding the only Triumph in the AMA Supersport series, set a 1'31.673 lap time around the Ohio circuit.
"I've always liked Mid-Ohio. I think it's my favorite track," Dominguez said.
Dominguez started riding the Triumph just a few rounds ago, and the Latus team has been working hard to get the right set up.
"We have a really nice package this weekend," Dominguez said. "It's a new bike. So we're kind of learning as we go."
Rispoli was the closest to match Dominguez' pace. Rispoli recorded a best time of 1'31.837, just .16 seconds behind the pacesetter.
Hayden Gillim took the third place spot, a half second off of Dominguez' pace. Tomas Puerta and Corey Alexander completed the top 5.
