Josh Hayes led the way around the Mid-Ohio circuit during the first free practice session for the AMA Superbike riders. Hayes beat out Blake Young, Roger Hayden, and Larry Pegram.
Hayes set a 1'26.117 lap time today at Mid-Ohio. Young, who currently trails Hayes by just two points in the overall standings, finished second for the day.
Roger Hayen took the third place spot ahead of Larry Pegram and Steve Rapp.
Tommy Hayden, who is currently third in the standings, finished 7th for the day behind Martin Cardenas.
