Hayes Takes 5th Consecutive Pole Position

Hayes_qualifyingJosh Hayes took the pole position today at Barber Motorsports Park for the AMA Superbike series. Hayes has taken every pole position so far this season.

Haye’s set a 1’25.911 lap time around the Alabama circuit and was the only rider to dip below 1’26. Tommy Hayden was close behind, however, finishing .14 seconds off of Hayes’ pace.

“It was a good session,” Hayes said. “We tried a few things and made a few improvements. I knew Tommy was going to up here, he’s really fast at this track. It’s going to be a real barn burner. It will be good for the crowd, hopefully we can put on a good show.”

Hayden, who is currently third in the series behind teammate Blake Young, has finished on the podium at very race so far this season. Hayden has only one win to his name so far, but could add to that total this afternoon.

“I feel pretty good for the race,” Hayden said. “We’ve got a pretty good set up. We’ll see how it goes.”

Hayes and Hayden will be joined be Chris Perris and Roger Hayden on the front row.
