Eslick Captures Pole at Barber

danny_eslickDanny Eslick will be starting from the front of the grid this afternoon during the first Daytona Sportbike race at Barber Motorsports Park. Eslick captured the pole position today with a 1’29.501 lap time. The Suzuki rider will be joined on the front row by PJ Jacobsen, Josh Herrin, and Jason DiSalvo.

Eslick captured the pole position today by .005 seconds ahead of PJ Jacobsen. The top 5 riders were all within .2 seconds of the leader, which proves once again just how competitive the riders are in the Daytona Sportbike class.

“It’s going to be a heck of a race,” Eslick said. “As the class has shown over the last couple of years, it’s going to be a barn burner to the finish. I’m looking forward to a really good race tomorrow.”

Eslick and Jacobsen will be looking for their first wins of the season this afternoon, while Herrin and DiSalvo will both be looking to tally their fourth. DiSalvo had two DNFs at Road America and is ready to get his season back on track.

“The weekend has been going pretty good,” DiSalvo said. “We’re moving in the right direction.”

Herrin will be looking to keep his win streak alive this afternoon. Herrin has won the last three Daytona Sportbike races.

“We’re ready to go out and race,” Herrin said. “We would have liked the pole position, but we’re only a few feet back. So we’re happy with the front row.”
