Puerta is the Pace Setter at Road America

tomas_puerta_provisional_poleTomas Puerta led the way for the AMA Supersport riders at Road America today during the 1st qualifying session. Puerta, who was the only rider to dip below 2'24, was closing in on 2'23 by the end of the session.

Puerta set a 2'23.134 lap time around the Road America track today to take the provisional pole ahead of Travis Wyman and David Gaviria.

“Practice was good. I like this track a lot,” Puerta said. “I really wanted the provisional pole this weekend, because last weekend didn't work too well for me. So it was important to be on my game this weekend.”

Hayden Gillim was the fourth fastest rider on the track today and James “The Rocket Rispoli completed the top five.
