Live Results From Miller Motorsports Park: Daytona Sportbike Race

MMPThe Daytona Sportbike riders are about to take to the grid for their one and only race of the weekend at Miller Motorsports Park. Jason DiSalvo has been the leader this weekend, and will start the race from the pole position. 

The Grid

Row 1: DiSalvo - Jacobsen - Herrin - Beaubier

Row 2: Allson - Knapp- Eslick - West

Row 3 Holden - Aquino - Dimick - Westby

And they're off!

The Daytona Sportbike riders start aggressive as four riders pass by DiSalvo. 

PJ Jacobsen jumps out into the front, followed by Westby, Herrin, West, and DiSalvo. 

The Daytona Sportbike riders start with a 2'10 pace. 

There's a lot of standing water on the track. We've seen crashes in all divisions so far, and it wouldn't be surprising to see a few riders go down today. 

The top 5 riders are all within a second of one another. 

Lap 3: Jacobsen drops his lap time down to 2'07.732. 

Leaders - Jacobsen - Westby - West - Herrin - DiSalvo

West passes Jacobsen and Westby for the lead. 

DiSalvo is more than a second behind the leaders. The top 7 riders are all lapping under 2'08. 

Jacobsen hops back in front. Jacobsen - West - Westby - Herrin - DiSalvo  - Beaubier - Odom 

The top three riders are beginning to put some space behind them. Herrin and DiSalvo are still well within striking distance. 

Lap 6: Jacobseon - Westby - West - Herrin - DiSalvo

Allison puts in the fastest lap of the race so far. Allison closes in on Odom with a 2'08.338 lap. 

DiSalvo drops back to nearly two seconds behind the leader. 

Lap 7: DiSalvo runs wide and opens the door for Beaubier to pass. DiSalvo is now three seconds behind the leaders. 

Lap 8: Jacobsen holds the lead, but Westby has cut the gap down to .2 seconds. 

Westby sets the bar with a 2'05.571 lap time.

Lap 9: Jacobsen and Westby cross the line side by side. Jacobsen holds the lead by .015 seconds. 

Herrin, Jacobsem and Westby swapping spots back and forth on lap 10. 

Jacobsen has fallen back to fourth place behind Westby, Herrin, and West. 

Lap 11: Running four wide down the stretch. Westby, Herrin, West, Jacobsen. 

Beaubier puts in the fastest lap of the day, and closes in on the front four. Beaubier is .4 seconds behind. 

The top five riders are riding side by side. Jacobsen ducks on the inside and retakes the lead. 

Lap 12: West grabs a little bit of room. Crosses the line with a half second ahead of West. There are three laps to go and five riders could easily claim the win. 

Lap 13 - Jacobsen - West - Herrin - Westby - Beaubier - DiSalvo - Allison - Eslick - Aquino

Herrin brings the gap down to .1 seconds. Herrin and Jacobsen are running away at the front. West is now 1.7 seconds behind. 

Lap 14: We have two battles at the front now. Jacobsen and Herrin are riding neck and neck for first. West and Westby have .2 seconds seperating themselves for third place. 

One lap to go! Jacobsen has the lead, but his bike is starting to wobble. 

Herrin takes the lead in front of Jacobsen. 

Jacobsen looses some speed, and is now riding on Herrin's tail. 

Herrin takes it down the stretch to claim the win ahead of Jacobsen. 

Herrin wins. 

Herrin - Jacobsen - Beaubier - West - Westby - DiSalvo - Eslick - Salster - Allison - Aquino
