Benny Solis Takes Provisional Pole

AMA_Pro_RacingBenny Solis continued to lead the way for the AMA Supersport riders at Miller Motorsports Park. Solis claimed the provisional pole today ahead of David Gaviria and Corey Alexander.

Solis was dominant during the morning free practice session, but Gaviria and Alexander gave the young Honda rider a run for his money during qualifying. The top spot was swapped multiple times throughout the session, but in the end Solis took home the provisional pole.

“I had my dad holding up the pit board so I know who was fastest,” Solis said. “The Honda handled really well. We’ll have a good race tomorrow.”

Solis took both wins at Infineon, which were the first two race wins of his AMA career. Solis is on pace to add to his win total this weekend, but the Honda rider will have some tough competition from Gaviria and Alexander.

The Supersport riders will have their second qualifying session tomorrow morning at 8 am. The Supersport riders will race at 11:50 am.
