No one had a chance to catch Benny Solis around the Infineon Raceway today during the first AMA Supersport race of the weekend. Solis led from the pole position, and eventually built his lead to more than 8 seconds.
Solis had been the fastest rider throughout the weekend, and he showed that pace throughout the first Supersport race at Infineon. Solis was also the only Honda on the grid, and gave Honda their first win since 2009.
"This is my first season," Solis said. "I'm on the only Honda and that motivated me. To take this win was pretty special for me."
Solis was followed by the two Daytona winners, Tomas Puerta and David Gaviria.
