Hayden Outpaces Hayes at Infineon

For 49 minutes, Josh Hayes led the first AMA Superbike free practice session at the Infineon Raceway. But in the final minute, Tommy Hayden made a late lap push to top the timesheets by .3 seconds.

Hayes looked untouchable today, as he continually put in laps in the mid 1:37s while other riders struggled to beak out of the 1’38s. In fact, Hayes and Hayden were the only two riders to lap below 1’38 today at Infineon.

Martin Cardenas came closest to catching the top two riders, putting in a 1’38.1 lap time around the Infineon Raceway. Cardenas was followed by Ben Bostrom and Steve Rapp, who rounded out the top 5.
