Kyle Wyman Takes First XR 1200 Win of 2011

xr1200_race_resultsKyle Wyman won the first Vance & Hines XR1200 race of the 2011 season, but it wasn't easy. Four riders were battling for the win at the end of the race, which resulted in a spectacular finish.

Kyle Wyman, Chris Fillmore, Joe Kopp, and Steve Rapp, were separated by just .13 seconds at the end of the race, but Wyman was able to edge out his competitors to claim the XR 1200 victory.

"It's amazing," Wyman said. "The last time I was here I ended up at the hospital. But I was able to put it out of my mind, and more importantly, there was just so much adversity this weekend. You know, my dad the crew put in 20 hour days to get us ready, and it really came down to the wire."

Wyman was so elated that he let his victory celebration get a little out of hand. While celebrating with his brother, Travis Wyman, who finished fifth, Wyman dropped his Harley.

'That burnout just got away from me," Wyman said. "I'll have to practice that for the next race."

Fillmore took the second place spot before Kopp claimed the last spot on the podium.

"To get my first podium at my first race," Kopp said. "I don't have a lot of road race experience. It's just great."
