Earlier this week, I told you about Robert Fisher, whose neighbors complained about how he decided to use his own private property. After they complained enough, a judge ordered him to shut down his motocross track (despite the fact that nobody used it before noon or after dark). At the time, I was hoping that this situation was an isolated incident --- certainly, this kind of stuff can't happen on a regular basis, can it?
Apparently it can. James Davis used to operate a motocross bike track on his property, near the Dallas city limits. His neighbors complained about the dust and the noise, and he was ordered to shut the track down. Oh, and did I mention that the track wasn't even run at a profit? Davis wanted to make sure it was affordable to everyone, a dream he saw realized for the four years that the track was used.
Despite appealing the initial decision to shut down the track to the Polk County Board of Commissioners, a judgement was again decided in favor of the neighbors.

So, now the neighborhood is a little less dusty and a little more quiet. But what're those motocross-loving kids going to do, now that their favorite track has been shut down? With all of that idle time on their hands, I'm sure they'll find less productive ways to spend it.
