KTM Announces 2011 GNCC Team Hot

dirt_ktmKTM Motorsports has just announced its lineup for the 2011 Grand National Cross Country series. Kailub Russell, Cory Buttrick, and Charlie Mullins will all be racing in the XC1 class next year for KTM.

Russell has had two successful seasons in the XC2 class. Russell has won the GNCC championship in the XC2 division during the last two years, and earned 8 race wins during the 2010 season. Russell will now get the chance to prove his worth in the XC1 division.

Buttrick and KTM will continue their relationship for the third year. Buttrick took second in the XC2 class in 2009 behind his teammate, Russell, and last year he earned four podiums and a race win in the XC1 class. On top of competing in the XC1 with KTM, Buttrick will also be competing in the 2011 AMA National Enduro Series.

The 2010 National Enduro Champion, Charlie Mullins, will be joining KTM as well next year. Mullins won the National Enduro Championship, but also claimed second place in the 2010 GNCC XC1 series with three race wins.

“I am very excited to join the KTM Team for 2011,” Mullins said. “I believe they make an incredible product and I am excited to run factory equipment with a solid team behind me.”

The team will be managed by Antti Kallonen.

“We are very excited about out GNCC line up,” Kallonen said. “All three riders are capable of winning the XC1 Championship. We are hoping to earn multiple race wins and lots of podium finishes in 2011.”
