Eslick Takes the Win in a Dramatic Finish

ama_daytonasupersport_herrinYou couldn't have asked for a more exciting race than the second AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike race at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Three riders held the lead on the final lap, but it was a late charge from a determined Danny Eslick that would determine the final victor.

Eslick beat out his Daytona Sportbike rival, Josh Herrin, on the final lap, to add a little bit of cushion going into the final event in Alabama.

Martin Cardenas almost took the race win. He flew to the front of the pack from fourth place on the penultimate lap, but wasn't able to hold his momentum. Cardenas would drop back into third behind Herrin.

Tommy Aquino led the race for 7 laps, and eventually finished in fifth place behind P.J. Jacobson.

With one event left, Eslick pulls ahead of Herrin by 11 points. The final event in Alabama will be a three man showdown, as Cardenas is just one point behind Herrin, and 12 points behind Eslick.
