AMA Superbike: The first qualifying session of the AMA Superbike at Laguna Seca saw a new rider at the top of the time sheets. The AMA Superbike has been dominated by Tommy Hayden and Josh Hayes as of late, but Ben Bostrom of Pat Clark Motorsports was the fastest around the track today during the first qualifying session. Bostrom finished with a 1'24.552 time, just a tenth of a second ahead of Hayden, and three tenths faster than Hayes.
Jake Holden finished fourth, followed by the other Bostrom, Eric in fifth.
AMA Daytona Sportbike: In the Sportbike category, the two top spots were taken by Team Graves Yamaha, with Josh Herrin at the top of the time sheets, and Tommy Aquino just below in second.
Steve Rapp took the third place spot ahead of Bobby Fong and Cory West.
AMA Supersport: Tommy Puerta won the supersport qualifying session, and sets himself up at the front of the grid for the race later today. Puerta was followed by Tyler O'Hara and Austin Dehaven.
Elena Myers couldn't make up any ground from her free practice session, and ended the qualifying in 7th place.
