Tommy Hayden was able to hold off his biggest title contender at the second race of the AMA Superbike at Mid-Ohio. Hayden took the race two win over Josh Hayes, who won race 1. For the second event in a row, Hayden and Hayes have split race wins. Hayden's race two victory keeps the title chase extremely close as Hayden is now only four points behind Hayes.
Larry Pegram, Ben Bolstrom, Hayden, and Hayes, were a tight four pack throughout the race, but Hayden and Hayes began to separate from the group in the final laps. Hayden kept Hayes at bay, and crossed the line .184 seconds ahead of his rival to claim his 3rd AMA Superbike victory.
Pegram and Bolstrom had a similar battle, but Pegram came out on top, narrowly racing to a third place finish.
Daytona Sportbike - Danny Eslick took Sunday's race victory for the Daytona Sportbike series, with a rare breakaway win. Eslick took the victory by almost five seconds.
Season leader Josh Herrin took a spill on the final lap while chasing Eslick for the race win. Herrin ended up with a 19 place finish, allowing Eslick to pull within two points.
Supersport - Another race, another J.D. Beach win. Beach did the double at the Mid-Ohio event, making it five race wins out of the past 6 races. Beach finished 13 seconds ahead of his Yamaha teammate Cameron Beaubier.
