A quarter of the AMA Motocross season has passed, and Ryan Dungey is currently on a hot streak with 4 consecutive wins. But the rookie superstar will have to get past veteran Chad Reed if he wants to maintain his winning ways at Budds Creek.
Reed, the defending MX champ and last years winner at Budds Creek, is coming off of his worst career finish at High Point. Reed fell to fourth in the overall standings after a 13th and 18th place finish at High Point, and will need a strong finish at Budds Creek if he wants to stay in contention.
Dungey will also have tough competition from Brett Metcalfe who currently sits in second, 25 points behind. Metcalfe has been consistent around the track, but he has yet to find the top spot on the podium this season.
Andrew Short should also be in good form at Budds creek. Short is coming off of his best finish of the season, with a third and second at High Point.
Mike Alessi, who is the only MX rider besides Dungey and Reed to claim a win this season, sits in third place, 28 points behind the Rookie. Alessi saw his best results during the first round of the season, and its time again for Alessi to rise to the top of the pack.
