Ben Bostrom of Pat Clark Motorsports waited until the last lap to turn on the heat. Bostrom rode a blistering fast lap to steal the pole position away from Josh Hayes at the West Coast Moto Jam at the Infineon Raceway.
Bostrom’s last lap of 1:36.109 took the lead by just .075 seconds.
"It wasn't a special lap, it was just special enough and that's all it takes," Bostrom said, "The R1's quite strong here."
Hayes, who won his first Superbike race at the Infineon Raceway, finished second in the opening session.
Jake Holden, who made his debut tonight for the Monster M4 Suzuki team, took third place. Holden spent much of the session tweaking his bike in the pits, but when it came time to race, Holden and his bike looked well put together.
