URAL Motorcycles continues to grow. The company reported a 39% increase in unit sales for the second consecutive year. URAL has also added two more dealers to its existing network.
The company also saw its motorcycles find their way into the garages of Brad Pitt and Ewan McGreggor, as well as the prestigious Hammacher Schlemmer catalog. URAL also got a sales boost from its M70 anniversary-edition, which sold out in less than two weeks.
"Sidecar motorcycles are ideal for a wide range for applications, from adventure riding to daily commuting," said Ural CEO Ilya Khait. "Being the only sidecar manufacturer in the world, Ural has experienced an increased demand from all age groups.
"Mature riders are interested in sidecars because of the added stability, and the unique opportunity to share the ride with their family members. The younger urban crowd is also getting into sidecars in their search for practical transportation and their desire for something unique -- an experience and identity -- they can associate with their own lifestyle."
URAL, a Russian company that has been producing motorcycles for 70-years, is expanding its footprint in the United States. URAL's North American operation in Redmond, Washington, is moving to a larger facility. URAL will also be adding 25 to 30 new dealers in 2012.
