Last week Triumph Motorcycles announced that it was seeing big sales in 2011 and the company is point to its aggressive and wide-ranging line of motorcycles as the reason for its success. It looks like Triumph is taking the same approach in India as they are expected to bring seven new models down to the Auto Expo in New Delhi at the end of January.
Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India, Ashish Joshi told Rush Lane:
'We deliberated over the range of bikes to bring into India and decided to bring in these models to showcase the Triumph range. We have bikes which can cater to different needs – from 675cc Super Sport bike the Daytona 675 to 2300 cc Rocket III. The Indian market offers good potential and as a company, we are confident that each of our seven models within its individual category will be a trailblazer in very short time; similar to other markets we are present in."
Triumph, who will also be rolling out a CKD assembly facility, will be bring the Speed Triple, Street Triple, Tiger 800XC, Daytona 675, Triumph Storm, and the Rocket III to India.
"Our strategy for the Indian market will be well phased out. The first part of the roll-out plan will be a CKD assembly facility which will enable us to pass on duty savings to the customer."
Triumph will be showcasing its Indian lineup at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi.
