Ducati has been describing its new 1199 Panigale as a work of art for the last several months, and when the bike was unveiled last weekend at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan, the judges agreed. The new 1199 Panigale was awarded the "Most Beautiful Bike of Show" title this year.
The Ducati 1199 Panigale took home 53.4% of the votes. The MV Agusta F3, which has won the award in the past, took 17% of the votes. The Husqvarna Nuda 900R took 3% of the votes.
Here's a video of the Ducati 1199 Panigale. Do you think it deserves the award?
Ducati said that the award was a reward for Ducati's constant and innovative product development. The company was also said that the "most beautiful" award caps a fantastic year as the Italian manufacturer head will close 2011 with its best financial results in the company's history.
The Ducati 1199 Panigale is, of course, much more than a piece of art. The bike delivers 195hp from 361 lbs (the Panigale has the highest power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios in the world for a production motorcycle) and will soon find itself on the race track.
The 1199 Panigale will be available in three models. The 1199 Panigale, 1199 Panigale S and flagship 1199 Panigale S Tricolore will all be available in early 2012.
