Christian Clayton, the co-owner and CEO of Sucker Punch Sally, died unexpectedly in his sleep last week. Clayton leaves behind a wife and four kids. He was 40-years-old.
The circumstances behind Clatyton's death are unknown, but according to Cyril Huze, an autopsy will be performed on the customer motorcycle maker.
Sucker Punch Sally was formed in 2002 by custom builders Jeff Cochran and Donnie Loos. When Geri and Christian Clayton joined up Cochran and Loos, the small custom shop started producing hundreds of motorcycles a year.
A motorcycle from Sucker Punch Sally was unique, yet affordable, and quickly became a fan, and celebrity favorite. Miami Ink's Ami James paired up with Clayton and SPS to create the Love/Hate motorcycles, solidifying SPS's reputation among custom fans.
Sucker Punch Sallys, like many other custom shops (as well as big manufacturers) have struggled with business in recent years.
Motorcycle USA notes that Sucker Punch Sally still donated a motorcycle as the top price in the Arizona Scavener Hunt this year despite the ongoing economy struggle.
Christian Clayton will be missed.
