S&S Cycle Steps Up to Help Big Dog Owners

s-and-s-cycleWhen Big Dog motorcycles announced that it was closing its doors last week, they also said that they wouldn’t be able to honor any warranties. S&S Cycle announced today that they would honor the warranty of any S&S engine that was supplied with a Big Dog motorcycle.

S&S Cycle said today that they will offer a special engine warranty to all owners of Big Dog motorcycles.

Here’s a break down of what S&S will be doing for Big Dog owners.

  • S&S will honor the warranty on any S&S engine that was supplied in a Big Dog for as long as the original vehicle warranty would have lasted.
  • S&S can supply replacement parts for your stock emissions compliant engine. That means your engine can be repaired at any S&S dealer or by the S&S Remanufacturing Service, and you can be assured that it still is "street legal" and that you are not violating emissions laws.
  • S&S can offer performance upgrades for your BDM V117 engine, which can be installed by an S&S dealer or our Remanufacturing service.

There won’t be any Big Dog Motorcycles hitting the road anytime soon, but with the help of S&S Cycle, the existing bikes could stay on the road for a long time.

"I'm certainly sad to see a good customer like BDM close their doors, but I feel that we need to shoulder the responsibility, and make sure the end customer gets a square deal,” said S&S company president George Smith. “I suppose we could just look the other way, but I won't do that. After all, these are S&S engines. We built them and we're going to stand behind them."

You can get more warranty information at S&S Cycle.
