The Aprilia RSV4 is one of the fastest racing motorcycles on the planet. Max Biaggi just captured the 2010 World Superbike title aboard an RSV4, and both Aprlia and Biaggi are confident that they can defend that title together in 2011.
Aprilia has just released three new motorcycles, all of which are modeled off of Biaggi's championship winning bike. The Tuono V4 R most closely resembles the WSBK championship bike, but Aprilia also has two smaller models, the RS4 50 and the RS4 125.
The Tuono V4 R “The Fiercest Naked Ever Seen”
One day we all have to face the fact that we are not, and probably never will be, Max Biaggi. But with the Tuono V4 R, we can forget about that for a few seconds of high speed bliss.
The Tuono V4 R is an aggressive bike that turns any casual rider into a racer as soon as they sit in the saddle. The RSV4 Factory APRC SE four V cylinder engine has been reconfigured to give the Tuono V4 R an incredible 162 horsepower.
The Tuono V4 R also improves upon the RSV4's exhaust system by making it four pounds lighter and adding the latest generation of Ride by Wire throttle control.
The Tuono V4 R isn't a replica of the RSV4, it's an improvement. Everything from the engine to the fairing to the foot pegs were looked over and improved on. You might not be Max Biaggi, but the Tuono V4 R lets you ride like him... Sort of.
Aprilia RS4 and RS50
Let's face it, not everyone can handle the 162 hp engine of the Tuono V4 R, but everyone still wants the thrill of speed. The Aprilia RS4 and the RS50 are smaller racing bikes designed with the young enthusiast in mind.
Aprilia has shrunk it's world classing racing bikes down to 50cc and 125cc models, but still maintains the quality and competitive edge that it's processional bikes are known for.
Both bikes are made with an extremely stiff aluminum perimeter frame that is perfect for racing, a 41 mm upside down fork, a Superbike inspired analogue/digital instrument panel, and a fairing that was inspired directly by the RSV4 WSBK Championship winning bike.
Aprilia is breeding a new generation of riders. They have built a series of stepping stones, from the small but powerful RS50, to the quick and nimble RS4, and finishing with the daddy of all naked bikes, the Tuono VR 4.
