Triumph Launches Tiger 800 and 800xc at EICMA Hot

Triumph has been making motorcycles for over 100 years, but they continue to innovate. In fact, Triumph has unveiled more new products this year than it ever has in its 109 year history. Two new additions were added to the Triumph lineup today at the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan. Triumph unveiled two adventure bikes, the Tiger 800 and the Tiger 800xc.

Last month, Triumph unveiled the Thunderbird Storm, the America, and the Speedmaster motorcycles at the Intermot Show in Germany. All three bikes were impressive efforts from Triumph, but it was the adventure touring bikes unveiled today that most people were excited for.

“Entering the adventure touring segment is big news for everyone at Triumph, and we know from customer comments that they’re just as excited,” said Satu Mehta, Vice President of Sales for Triumph North America. “Triumph’s new adventure motorcycles give us a strong offering in every motorcycle category and a great platform to build on in the coming years.”

Both bikes are capable of city commuting, highway touring, and diving into the back roads, but each bike has a separate focus. The 800xc is your true, down and dirty adventure bike, while the 800 is a little more user friendly.

The Tiger 800 and the Tiger 800xc can be equipped with hard or soft saddlebags, gel seats, and numerous off-road protection parts. The two Tigers from Triumph look awesome, but only time will tell if they can measure up against bikes like BMW's 800GS.
