The 2011 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R: The Ultimate Sportbike Hot

Ninja_ZX-10R_SMALLFor almost three decades, Kawasaki has been at the top of the sportbike world with their Kawasaki Ninjas. The Ninja has built a cult following, and every year the bike just keeps getting better. So how do you improve on a legendary motorcycle? You build the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10.

The ZX-10R is being billed as the “World's Ultimate Sporting Motorcycle,” and it comes pretty close to living up to that claim. By combining the Kawaski Ninja's reliability, the latest sportbike technology from the MotoGP, and an advanced traction control system, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is a force to be reckoned with.

The ZX-10R has been completely redesigned for 2011. The engine, frame, suspension, Ninja_ZX-10R_cockpit_SMALLbodywork, instrumentation and wheels have all been improved upon. But it's the electronic system that makes the ZX-10R one of the best sportbikes in the world.

The customizable electronic system, dubbed Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control, or S-KTRC, puts the control you need on the track right in the dash. S-KTRC helps keep your wheels from spinning excessively, or slipping on the track, by measuring the situation from a variety of sensors. From your lean angle, to engine rpm's, from the throttle position, to your acceleration, the S-KRTC system knows how much power to give to keep your bike running smooth on any track.

The S-KTRC system can be adjusted to fit rider needs. The ZX-10R has three different modes of operation, based on skill level. The beginner setting will keep your bike glued to the track, but advanced riders can change the settings to get optimal traction in slippery conditions.

Ninja_ZX-10R_instraments_SMALLThe S-KTRC system is truly a modern marvel, and makes the ZX-10R one of the most electronically advanced bikes on the market. But the ZX-10R doesn't need the fancy electronic to impress anyone. The bike could measure up along most sportbike by power alone. The powerplant 16-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled inline-four displacing 998cc engine is definitely capable of setting the pace. And with the new redesigns that optimize power, delivery, and the bikes center of gravity, you get optimal performance going into, driving through, and exploding out of corners.

Whether or not the Kawasaki ZX-10R is the “World's Ultimate Sporting Motorcycle,” has yet to be decided. But the ZX-10R is eager to prove what it's worth.
