Well, it is not as simple as that - and he won’t be racing or managing a team - but legendary racer, team manager and industry (creative) executive Scot Harden is now Zero Motorcycles’ Vice President of Global Marketing. Harden joins Zero from his recent tenure at BMW/Husqvarna as National Marketing Director and Race Team Manager. His 40+ years of industry experience, service and dedication will be most welcome at the California electric motorcycle manufacturer.
Scot Harden has already earned a place in the AMA Hall of Fame based on more than 20 international motorcycle racing titles and his
excess of 200 victories – including the Dakar Rally, two SCORE Baja 1000, three Baja 500 wins. After he finished with racing professionally, he went on to join Austrian marque KTM as Vice President of Marketing and Communication where he led development of at least two off-road motorcycle lines. He started his position at Husqvarna in 2008.
Harden’s past accomplishments are many, but his new tenure at Zero is bound to only expand that list even more. Zero has been making some very strategic moves lately; moves which look to position them as a serious motorcycle company in an already well-represented field. As opposed to an electric motorcycle manufacturer, Zero is aiming at being a motorcycle company which happens to use electrons instead of petroleum to propel their bikes. If Scot Harden does for Zero what he has done for Husqvarna and KTM, we will be hearing much more from them very soon!
