The 2009 Harley-Davidson XR 1200 is inspired by the XR-750 dirt track racer, the motorcycle that has set the standards for American dirt track racing over the past 30 years. The XR 1200 is powered by a 1200 cc Evolution V-Twin engine that is equipped with performance cams, down-draft fuel injectors, and precision oil-cooled cylinder heads. The 2 – 1 – 2 straight shot exhaust system relieves the pressure created by the explosion of fuel and air in the 10.0:1 compression combustion chamber, and the 5-speed transmission transfers the power through the drive belt to the 180mm wide rear tire.
