Puma and Ducati Motorcycles Make a Deal

AllAboutBikes.com Staff Writer

Motorcycle News pumaPuma Moto is a popular initiative that was launched back in 2006.  Since then, the Puma Corporation has been looking for a partner to do business with by launching a joint brand for the supersport world.  After searching for another motorbike corporation to partner with, Puma struck a deal with Ducati.  This seems to be a great choice.

Ducati is one of the premier manufacturers of motorcycles on a global level.  The brand is extremely well respected, and Ducati boasts one of the best MotoGP teams on the planet.  It looks like a smart move for Puma as they seek to earn respect, visibility, and credibility in the worldwide motor sport market.

The deal was designed to last for a three year period.  The cooperation agreement contains a few different stipulations.  It has been decided that the Puma brand will be used as the official supplier for all footwear used by the Ducati racing teams.  This should garner a lot of visibility out on the race track and back at home with fans that are watching on television.  Secondly, a licensing agreement has been created between the two corporations.  They are putting out a co-branded line of products together.  Puma and Ducati are both huge names in their respective industries, and it looks like a solid business decision for these corporations.

Ducati is a brand that has very deep roots in the world of motor sports.  They have been one of the top brands in the field for many years.  Puma is one of the more popular athletic brands on the planet as well.  Stylish design and innovative performance features have long been a part of the corporation's image.  Professional sports teams use Puma products in many different countries.  Their casual athletic wear is also extremely popular.  Ducati has been at the top of the MotoGP racing world for a long time, so it really is an ideal combination of two major brands.

Given that these two companies are so firmly established in each respective industry, it makes sense that they would team up to form a powerful co-branded product line and sponsorship agreement.  Ducati has a great racing team that has won many championship titles.  The motorbikes used by this team serve as icons for the sport.  Puma has earned international fame as well, and this should be a solid business relationship for many years to come.  Check for their co-branded products if you are interested in finding out more.
