REV'IT and Gore-Tex have announced plans to create a prototype and development test team of motorcycle rider-enthusiasts (that's you!) to test new products before they are introduced to consumers. The test team will receive products developed with a focus on new technologies to improve riding quality, comfort and safety.
The companies plan to create a pool of up to 500 riders who will then be divided into groups of 50 team members. Members will receive products for testing and complete a product specific performance log on a regular basis for the life of the test (the products must be returned at the end of the test). According to Jordan Levitt, REV'IT's North American Director, motorcycle riders are an opinionated bunch who speak up about their likes and dislikes concerning motorcycle apparel (who, us?). Rider feedback on how their apparel performs in real-world conditions will be used in the development process to improve satisfaction and performance.
Interested in participating? Go to www.motorcyclelab.com to apply. You will be asked to complete a 144 question survey regarding your riding history and preferences, along with measurements for more body parts than you knew you had -- so have a tape-measure handy and a friend to help. The survey took me about half an hour to complete. Here's hoping we make the team -- REV'IT makes great gear and I'd like another excuse to ride!
