Bravo Brammo
The idea of the electric motorcycle has been around for a few years. Some companies have even been successful at creating a bike that runs solely on electric power. Brammo, however, is the first company to mass produce a motorcycle that is widely available to the public.
The Enertia is even available at some Best Buy stores on the west coast. The initial $12,000 MSRP took a $4000 price cut this week, which makes the Enertia even more green conscious.
An electric motorcycle with a reasonable price tag? Sounds pretty tempting. Just wait until you get to the specs.
The Enertia cruises at a mild 53 mph for a cool 40 miles before it needs to be recharged. You can plug the bike into any AC outlet, and in four hours you’ll be ready to set off for another 40 miles.
0-60? Nope. Passengers and luggage? Not likely.
But the Enertia isn’t meant for the long haul. It is meant to give people an energy efficient way to commute to work, and this is where the Enertia powercycle succeeds. The bike requires no gas or oil and it is made from mostly recycled material.
The bike is a little more than a gadget, but the company has high expectations for their technology. They say that they will soon release a two seater bike that will be capable of traveling 100 miles at 70 mph before requiring a recharge.

Actually I guess this is a MOTORcycle and the bikes we are used to are really ENGINEcycles
A couple of the bigger companies like Honda are planning on making an all electric bike, but it will probably have some sort of futuristic design as well.
