Kymco People 250 Hot

John Campbell
Staff Writer

Kymco delivers real "people" power in their flagship scooter model, the People 250. The energetic 250cc Kymco motor won’t let you down when you need to be on the move in busy freeway traffic or just scooting around town.

Just picture a typical weekend morning with your People 250 scooter. As you swing your leg over the generous seat and settle in, it’s easy to take notice of the stylishly contemporary instrument panel with the easy-to-read odometer and analog speedometer.

Place the key in the ignition, turn the key to the “on” position then push the electric start button and the People 250 engine comes to life. The water-cooled, four-stroke, overhead-cam engine hums ready to set you on your way to the store for a few items.

Twist the throttle and get up to speed to easily merge into traffic. This entire action takes place effortlessly as the step-less CVT fully automatic transmission transmits power to the 16-inch wheels.

The wheels, dual rear shocks and telescopic front forks provide a positively smooth riding experience for a scooter that handles well on long and short trips.

Once you reach your destination, stopping the Kymco People 250 is made easy with the dual disc front brakes and single disc rear brake. You place your helmet in the under-seat storage compartment and go inside and buy a few items. As you walk across the parking lot you glance back to admire your scooter. And with two colors to choose, sleek black or spicy red, selecting the color that matched your style wasn’t difficult.

Upon returning, you place all your items in the ample storage area provided in Kymco scooters and get ready to head home. On the trip back, something comes over you and you find yourself on a little detour. These days taking the long way home is always the better route when you’re riding a People 250 scooter.

Enjoying the scenic route, you throw back your head and laugh the way only those who ride scooters can laugh. You have, in fact, passed gas station after gas station.

That, you soon realize, is the power of getting over 70 miles to a gallon.  Back at home, you take your groceries inside and discover you forgot the milk. Oh well, just grab your helmet and saddle up. The reliable 250 is ready to take on your next road-tripping adventure.
