BMW, Ducati Recalls Hot

BMW recalls 2009 K1300GT and K1300S; Ducati recalls 1098R, 1098S, and the 2010 F1098 Streetfighter

BMW K1300SBMW is recalling the 2009 K1300 GT and K1300 S. The switches on the handlebars for both the turn indicators and the emergency engine stop may fail. “In some cases, engine stalling could also result,” the government bulletin says. Dealers will inspect the bikes and replace the necessary components. BMW has not provided an owner notification schedule. The potential number of units affected also is not available. The NHTSA campaign ID number is 09V384000.

 

 

 

Ducati 1098RDucati is recalling the 2009 1098 R and 1098 S, as well as the 2010 F1098 Streetfighter. The fuel hose may become disconnected from the fuel pump, which could result in engine stalling and a fuel leak. Dealers will inspect the bikes and, if required, replace and reposition the fuel hose retaining clamp. The potential number of units affected is 753. The recall is scheduled for this month. The NHTSA campaign ID number is 09V381000. The Ducati recall ID is No. RCL-09-005.
