Bombardier Recreation Products, BRP, is currently working on developing a new hybrid engine for the Can-Am Spyder. It is the only hybrid roadster development program in the world, so it isn't too surprising to see the program get some big funding.
Zero Motorcycles have made their way across the ocean and into Australia. Zero has just released the Zero S and the DS electric motorcycles in Australia, which makes Zero the first company to sell a street legal electric bike down under.

Zero Motorcycles, the current market leader in electric motorcycles, has been awarded its second large-scale grant from California in order to produce an advanced new electric powertrain. Actually, the number is $2,018,000 and it comes from a series of awards and matching gifts given by state and local agencies. These originating organizations include the California Energy Commission, the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District (MBUAPCD), the City of Santa Cruz and others.
Vancouver, British Columbia - September 16, 2010 - Zongshen PEM Power Systems Inc. ("ZPP" or the "Company") (TSX:ZPP), today announced that it has launched its new "Toronto" line of electric motorcycles at the inaugural Zongshen PEM International Electric Motorcycle Business Alliance Conference held in the conference centre at the Chongqing headquarters of the Zongshen Industrial Group.
The Toronto line was designed to compete on performance and price with 110 cc to 120 cc gas motorcycles in China. Prior to the launch of the Toronto line the Company produced a line of smaller electric bicycles and scooters widely sold in China, which have lower top speed, range and power.
